In yet another leopard fatality, locals from Chorgalia village near Call Girls Haldwani in district Nainital lynched a wild cat to death on Monday.
The feline apparently attacked a villager, after which locals got together and killed the wild cat with sticks and other farming instruments.
Locals became fearful after the leopard entered their village on Monday morning and injured half a dozen people.

Police and forest department officials rushed to the spot, but by then angry villagers had killed the animal.
Leopards have killed around 239 people and injured over 397 in different parts of Uttarakhand over the past fifteen years.
The terror of the wild cat continues to grow with each passing year, resulting in a ferocious animal-man conflict.
According to the Uttarakhand forest department data, around 507 leopards have died of natural deaths, 251 in accidents and 51 others were killed by poachers since 2001.
Wildlife Institute of India scientist Bivash Pandav says: "The animal-man conflict involving leopards is high in the hills due to decline in their prey base. In Corbett National Park, the tiger population is high and this has forced the leopards to move towards the surrounding villages."
