A mystery mourner has left flowers at the unmarked grave of BBC serial paedophile Jimmy Savile ten years after his headstone was destroyed in disgrace.
The child abusing predator's anonymous plot in Woodlands Cemetery in Scarborough has been clear grassland since his crimes were exposed in 2012.
After his death - and before his appalling acts were known - a huge black marble store featuring the epitaph 'It Was Good While It Lasted' marked the spot.
The Jim'll Fix It egomaniac had ordered his coffin be laid at an angle so he could 'see the sea' and incased in two-and-a-half tons of reinforced concrete to deter grave-robbers.
As scores of his victims revealed how he had abused them, Savile's surviving relatives and once-friends said it would be removed and destroyed out of respect for them.
But now it appears someone has had an unthinkable change of heart.
Almost a decade after his secret life as one of Britain's most prolific sex offenders was brought into the spotlight, a simple flower display has been planted at his grave.
The cluster of three artificial blooms appear to have been recently placed there and show no sign of wear and tear from the elements.
There is no question they are there by mistake, as nobody else is buried within 15 feet of the plot.
A visitor to the cemetery told MailOnline: 'I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the flowers there.

'There are no markings or a stone to say what is there but it is unmistakable the same spot as it was in the press at the time.
'No-one goes anywhere near it and there are no other memorials or graves nearby.
The real question is, who would have placed those flowers there?'
Six years ago a campaign to get Savile's body removed from the grave was abandoned, because it would cost too much.
A price of £20,000 was estimated to excavate the paedophile from the triple plot, where he is buried in a gold coffin with his gold jewellery, a handful of his trademark cigars and a Royal Marines green beret.
His £4,000 headstone was removed and smashed to pieces under cover of darkness in October 2012.
Six years ago Savile's nephew Guy Marsden said he was disappointed he could not be removed.
He said: ‘It should have been done before his money ran out.
'I thought it was the end of it when they took the stone away but because he is still buried there it is like the place is cursed.
Despite Dame Janet's criticism of the deference shown to Savile by the BBC, KPMG found 'a culture within the BBC whereby individuals would fear approaching talent to ask them to be DBS checked'
