Crown Casino has been threatened with legal action after a valet attendant handed the keys to a luxury vehicle to a thief.
The $500,000 McLaren sports car left the casino at 3am on Sunday morning after it was allegedly checked out of valet by a man.
When the driver who actually checked the vehicle in, Johnny Nahlous, handed in his valet ticket to collect it he was told, 'you're not the owner of the car.'
A $500,000 McLaren sports car was checked out of the Crown Casino's valet parking (pictured) at 3am on Sunday by a different man to the one who had checked it in
'I gave them the valet ticket and they said, togel online no, you took it at 3am,' Mr Nahlous told Police pulled over the supercar in West Footscray and arrested a 43-year-old Lismore man.
The owner of the car, Sydney-based Honeymoon Car Hire, said it will be pursuing legal action against Crown Casino because the car was returned damaged.
'There's damage to the interior, the engine, and we have pictures of that as well,' Honeymoon Car Hire's Georgia Hunter said.
'We will be seeking legal action in due course with Crown.'
Police tracked the luxury car to West Footscray where they arrested and charged a 43-year-old man with the theft
The man who stole the car has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle and is out on bail before facing Melbourne Magistrates Court on October 17.
Crown Casino said they are assisting police with the ongoing investigation and had started an internal probe into the incident.
'We take security matters extremely seriously and we have commenced an internal investigation as a matter of priority,' Crown Casino said.
