Towada is a town in Aomori Prefecture, Japan where Izu islands lie. It was originally a fishing port that has now been turned into a beautiful seaside resort. The town was established around the year 1904. As of 31 March 2010, the town had a population of 60,695, and a total population density of 1984 persons per square kilometer in 27,783 households.
The town enjoys a coastline on two sides with the most prominent shoreline being the Lake Towada. Lake Towada is Japan's first national park. A major attraction among tourists in Aomori prefecture is the town's own morass festival which takes place in April and May.
Lake Towada is Japan's largest freshwater body and click here is perfectly suited to the growing and harvesting of fresh cherry blossoms. On beautiful summer days, towards the city becomes a great outdoor recreation spot. This is especially true for families, as there are many places where you can play and walk at the same time. Lake Towada also has other recreational facilities such as a golf course, a swimming pool and an entertainment complex.
There are three land borders within the town of Towada City. One of these is the Tsugaru area, which is the northernmost boundary. Another boundary is the Aomori Airport, which borders the town of Aomori on the west. The third border is the Hakodate-Komoro-kyu border, which is south of Towada City on the east. The three towns share a total population of about eight thousand people.
About half of Towada City's population lives in the Aomori area, while the rest lives in the Tsugaru area. Many people commute to work in the cities of Tokyo and Nagoya. The most popular transportation routes in the region are the Electric railway, High speed rail and the Shinkansen (intercity trains).
The first public swimming pool in Japan was built in Towada City in 1963. Today, the Aomori Koi pond is still used for hydrotherapy. The Aomori River is also a great place for walking, fishing and enjoying the sights. The most famous attraction in Towada City is the Otoro Dam, which is a geological outcrop along the Aomori Mountain stream. The waterfall has four pools, which provide great fun to children and adults alike.
The second largest town in the province of Hokkaido, Numakai, is also on the coast of Japan. Like Towada City, many people commute to work in the capital of Tokyo. The economy of Numakai is based on fisheries, rubber and other natural products. The most famous natural attraction in town is the Silent Valley National Park. It offers splendid opportunities to view the beautiful cherry blossoms from the sand. There are also a lot of nature parks in the area.
The third town on the coast of Hokkaido, Izu Peninsula is home to many resorts and is popular for its nightlife. There are night shows, live street performances and many bars and clubs. Many tourists travel to the area to soak up some sun while drinking beer at the bars. There are also many nature parks and waterfalls in and around Izu Peninsula.
