Israel Adesanya is supremely confident he will 'f**k Jared Cannonier up' in the headline act of UFC 276 this Saturday night. 

The middleweight champion has banished all challengers in his division and the powerful American is the next to face him. 

Adesanya is a heavy favourite to retain his belt and when asked about a specific gameplan or strategy to combat Cannonier, he replied: 'Everyone's [saying] ‘what's the game plan? How are you going to beat Jared? I'm like look, I'm going to f*** him up.

'That's the main thing.

I'm going to f*** him up and I'm saying that because I want that. I want people to be like "let's see, let's see." Because I know what I'm doing.'

Speaking after UFC Fight Night, Adesanya went on to speak about how packed full of top quality fights the card is on Saturday. 

He added: 'You go on my ‘FreeStyleBender' YouTube page, me and Alex [Volkanovski] did a breakdown and we didn't even skip a fight.

It's stacked.

'Literally, it's stacked, stacked, stacked from the bottom to the top. There's some sleeper fights on there.

'This is the biggest fight card of the year.

Cannonier is one of the division's more powerful fighters and will no doubt look to secure takedowns to avoid the lethal striking of the champion. 

But many have tried and failed at middleweight to have the better of the Nigerian-born star. 

With Alex Pereira also featuring on the main card, there could be a ready-made narrative for his next opponent if he wins. 

Pereira beat him twice, including one knockout during their kickboxing days, so the UFC are angling towards a renewal of that rivalry.
