He is counting down the days until he bids farewell to Brekky Central for good. 

But it was business as usual for departing Sunrise executive producer Michael Pell on Tuesday as he left Channel Seven's Martin Place studios after the morning broadcast.

The TV executive, considered one of Seven's most valuable assets, will move to Los Angeles next month to take up a new senior position at the network.

Pell dressed casually in a short-sleeved black shirt, khaki pants and white sneakers, as he emerged from Seven's famous inner-city headquarters.

Channel Seven last week announced the replacements for Pell.

Sarah Stinson, the executive producer of The Morning Show for the past 11 years, has been promoted to the newly created role of Director of Morning Television, overseeing Sunrise, Weekend Sunrise and The Morning Show.

Meanwhile, day-to-day operations at Sunrise will be handled by executive producer Sean Power, who has spent the past decade working for Seven, 2GB and Nine. 

Pell is stepping down from Sunrise to take up a new position with the network in LA, where he will effectively be Seven's 'talent scout' in the
r />sourcing new formats.

His job title will be Senior Vice President, Entertainment Content, North America.

Pell has overseen an extraordinarily successful period for Sunrise - Australia's

r />1 breakfast program - since replacing Adam Boland as EP in 2010.

He is credited with helping the show, anchored by Natalie Barr and David Koch, extend its lead against Nine's Today, hosted by Karl Stefanovic and Allison Langdon.

The Morning Show is also the leader in its time slot thanks to Stinson's stellar producing and the successful partnership of hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies, regularly smashing Today Extra and Studio 10 in the ratings.

Stinson, who will begin her new role in April, said: 'After 11 years as executive producer of The Morning Show and 23 years in television across the Seven and Nine, I am thrilled to take up this next challenge as Director of Morning Television.
