Elizabeth Berkley will be reprising her role as Jessie Spano on the revival of beloved teen sitcom Saved By The Bell. 

The actress, 48, recently spoke to

Berkley told the publication: 'To be on those same sets with those faces I know and love so well feels like coming home.

Berkley also reflected on the impact the show had on its many young fans back in the 1980s and 90s.

'Saved by the Bell holds a special place in people's hearts. It's part of their childhoods, and that is sacred. We are all fiercely protective of that legacy.' 

She also noted that, although new characters would be added to the show and that the original dynamic may be changed, the development team took great care to 'give fun winks and nods for the true fan.' 

The actress portrayed Jessie in the original series, and will return as an updated version of the character, who has since become the guidance counselor at her old high school.
